The magazines are all full of articles on “how to get thin at the last minute”, just before the summer catches you with all the extra fat…I couldn’t care less about dieting, it’s just picking a bathing suit that’s interesting to me. Especially this year, as there are plenty of retro designs that can actually look nice on real women…
More good news is, that you don’t really have to spend $200 on a swimsuit (unless you want to, which is also cool-we don’t condemn shopping in any form in this blog). I found options I would (and probably will) wear under different budgets:
1. This expensive, gorgeous bikini by Betsey Johnson, almost $200 all together:

2. Old Navy’s Mix and Match collection has lot to offer for around $20 for a complete set. This is my favorite match:

3. If you have a belly you don’t want to show off- go for a sexy one-piece suit, $29.50 at Old Navy:

Enjoy your summer!

I have only been a mom for a short time, so I have little wisdom to brag about. First-time moms are usually over protective, and generally clumsy about raising their kids, so who am I to talk…however, I have noticed some things about being a parent that I would like to share, just for the sake of it.
-My kid is happier when I am happy: which is usually when I am working on stuff I enjoy or just generally feeling good about myself. So I’ve decided that keeping myself sane, healthy and happy is good for everyone
-If I’m aggressive or loud, he is aggressive and loud immediately. Even when I’m angry, I do my best to keep calm and explain what’s wrong. I Avoid explosive behavior unless I want to get it back in my face…
-I can’t curse anymore. I really, truly love cursing and I miss it, it is such a release. And so much cheaper than therapy… But my son started copying my every word so I had to turn to silent, inwards cursing, which is what my mom used to do.
So, for all of you reading this, happy Mothers day, keep going and enjoy the ride!

Tee-shirts are so comfy we sometimes forget it’s really difficult to look great in them. Anyhow, if you have decided to wear a tee-shirt, wear a chic one. As always, here I’m showing what I would wear:
Urban outfitters have a great selection. I love this one!!!
What to wear it with? black pants or leggings (if you have the right body shape and size for that!!!) and of course, jeans, jean skirt, etc. I would also try a brown full skirt with the tee tucked in and a wide brown belt on top…could be interesting

I was feeling a little photoshop-happy, so here’s what I came up with…
1. Eyelet Blazer from Gap
2. White Women’s Long Rib-Knit Tank top from Old Navy
3. Antik Denim Belt from Zappos
4. Lightweight flared jeans from Gap
5. Ruffle-toe ballet flats from Gap
6. Seed Bead Hoop Earrings from Urban Outfitters
In any case, what I like about this outfit is that each and every part of it is extremely versatile. I will build a series of outfits during the week, re-using some garments. I dress like this all the time, so I hope you like it…

Gladiator sandals are one of this season’s hottest style trends. I know I talk a lot about shoes, but it’s just that as every woman I know, they’re a weak point (second only to chocolate, which is more of an illness in my case). I love shopping for shoes so much, it’s embarassing. I loose track of time, space, and my husband and kid if I see a nice pair of great shoes on a shop window…
In any case, Gladiator sandals are great. They’re sexy, comfy and very fashion forward without screaming “I’m desperate to look young and cool”. I personally like flat styles better, but there are some heeled ones that are nice too. Here are my favorite picks. Enjoy.
1. Athena Gladiator sandal from Urban Outfitters
2. Twist Gladiator sandal from Urban Outfitters

Mother’s Day is just around the corner (May 11th), so it’s just about time you start hinting your husband and kids about what you want to get. I’ve already done my homework (of course!!!) so here’s what I want:
1. This is the best dress I’ve seen this season, and I’ve seen a few!!! It’s cool, not floral (I love floral patterns on dresses, but I don’t really wear them, and actually I don’t have any friends who do…it’s a bit tricky to get those right and I hate girly clothes…) It’s from Banana Republic, BTW, and I’ll be wearing it so much I’ll have to put it in the garbage can by the end of the season.

2. This clutch. It’s so sexy I don’t mind it’s extremely expensive.
3. These Adidas sneakers. Because, what the hell?, they’re so beautiful I’ll wear them to run after my kid on weekends.

But not for everyone. It depends on body shape. If you have your extra weight in your hips and thighs, it will not flatter you because it will create an illussion that you are heavy all the way down to your ankles. This happens because the trouser’s legs start widening at your widest point. It’s better for women who are thinner from the waist down, even if they have bigger chest and belly. I am not 100% sure about it, but I think they also won’t work for shorter women, you’ll have to try them on and see. I have no way of testing this, as I am quite tall myself.
However, if I could, I would wear them. Here are some WOW pics of trousers I would love to wear if I was built differently. BTW- no chance fashion is going to make me wear something unflattering, I just take the temptation and blog about it:)
I’m doing my first steps in styling, so here’s a lovely outfit, please comment on it:

The Silk woven-trim tunic is from Banana Republic, $64.00
The great wide-leg sailor pants are from Gap, $49.50
The Franchi Handbags Annie clutch is $125.10 at Zappos
Couldn’t decide about the shoes, both options are great:
Bandolino Paradisa sandals are $73.00 at Zappos
Chinese Laundry Shameless sandals are $63.00 at Zappos
Other accessories to add:
- Long chandelier earrings, with tones of gold
- Wide gold bracelet

Still wearing your husband’s T-shirts to bed? Well, you’re missing out on the simple pleasure of wearing great sleepwear.
First of all, it feels great to wear something pretty and cozy while at home. Second, some sleepwear is easily transformed from comfy to sexy once the kids go to sleep.
Here are two great options, all under $35.00 for a complete set:

I chose very classical garments, but don’t mind me, just have fun with color and texture.

I just saw this new arrival at Old Navy and I thought it was great.
So here are some thoughts about it:
1. The grey is much nicer than the black
2. Wear it with flat sandals or shoes in the summer, during the day. If you wear it with silver or gold sandals it will be sexier and a bit dressier
3. Wear it with leggings underneath and high-heeled sandals for a different look. White leggings and silver or beaded sandals will make it look wonderful. Wear big hanging earrings with it, and you have a very sexy, feminine look
4. Caution- this dress is better for women that are not so curvy or pear-shaped, as it;s not an empire waist!!!

One of basics of grooming, is that if you’re going to wear sandals, you HAVE to get a pedicure. I think wearing sandals with no nail polish on your toe nails is really punishing the people around you.
So, here are the alternatives:
For a natural look, wear transparent or pale pink (the one in French Manicure) nail polish. It will look nice, and will not draw attention to your feet.
For a classier look, wear cherry red or dark red (the brownish tone) nail polish. All other colors are simply not it, all shades of pink or purple are just not elegant and they are just for little girls, not real women like the readers of this blog:)
BTW- you don’t need to get an expensive pedicure, you can do it yourself. The best tip is to put foot cream on every night, it will make your pedicure last longer by keeping the skin of your feet moisturized.
